As one of Europe’s most prestigious and elegant antique fairs and now in its 16th year, the
Winter Fine Art & Antiques Fair,
Olympia will open its doors again on Monday 10th of November 2008.
Held in association with the UK’s most respected trade bodies BADA and LAPADA, leading national and international dealers will exhibit and sell a vast array of stock, including exceptional and often rare examples of furniture, glass, ceramics, textiles, clocks, prints, sculpture, Asian art, jewellery, silver, lighting, Art Deco, mirrors, maps and much more.
The Winter Fine Art & Antiques Fair, Olympia assures quality, condition and authenticity for each item at the fair, through a strict and high quality vetting process before the fair opens so that visitors can buy with confidence. In addition, carefully selected art advisors will assist with the buying process.
For 2008, we are delighted to present our loan exhibition. Courtesy of the Trustees of the Chevening Estate: “The Earl’s Machine”, the world’s first calculating machine, seen as a forerunner of today’s computer and a marvel of 18th century ingenuity will be on display for the duration of the fair. Alongside the machine will be a Gainsborough portrait of the inventor and his working drawings. None of these have been seen outside Chevening House before.
The elegant and comfortable setting of the historic Olympia venue offers exhibitors and visitors the perfect environment to buy, to sell and to browse.
The show is classic and selective, with only the highest quality furniture and works of art at the start of the winter arts season.
